MMG College Football Playoffs Preview and Picks

ML Preview and Pick: Miami at Texas A&M

Kyle Field. One of the loudest, historic, and cultish like places in these United States of America to play a college football game. This is without a doubt the biggest game in almost 3 decades being played at 11AM local time in College Station, TX. The most important reasons for that are two people: Mike Elko, one of the best football coaches in the country, and sophomore sensation at quarterback, Marcel Reed. They have created a culture of accountability and explosiveness on both sides of the football. For most of the year, they have been one of the most consistent teams over the course of the season. The blip against UT shouldn’t be ignored, but it also shouldn’t be the triggering factor to determine who has the edge today as the Aggies take on The U.

The U touts of the most balanced teams in college football with a top 15 offense and defense. The individuals they have in offensive tackle: Francis Mauigoa, Freshman standout WR in Malachi Toney, one of the best skill players in the sport, and potentially the best player in the 2026 NFL Draft: Rueben Bain. Carson Beck who is projected to be an NFL starting QB by most scouts will not be scared of the moment. It all comes down to late execution and Mario Cristobal needs to have one of his best days in his career. The person he replaced at the U in fact won a conference championship before him, the losses against Louisville and SMU are still head scratchers, and the pressure is on the Head Coach to come through in a big spot with one of the most talented teams The College Football Playoffs.

Keys to the game:

1. Which team is going to run enough to keep the defenses honest against the pass?

2. Which duo will have the better day? Reed/Concepcion or Beck/Toney?

Miami (FL) at Texas A&M -3. The Pick: Miami (FL) 20 Texas A&M 24

Tariq Previews and Picks

Miami (FL) at Texas A&M

Can Carson Beck bring The U back to the mountain top? Will Marcel Reed get the Aggies one step closer to their first championship since 1939? Which quarterback will make the big plays without making big mistakes?

This game being at Kyle Field gives A&M a huge advantage, but does Beck’s experience give him an upper hand?

Which teams skill players can be the swing factors? Miami freshman wide receiver Malachi Toney has four games over 100 yards including his last two games. While the duo of KC Concepcion and Mario Craver have posted a balanced threat on the Aggies offense. A key to this game is Cashius Howell, if he’s able to wreak havoc on the Miami offensive line this game is much different.

Miami (FL) at Texas A&M -3. The Pick: Miami (FL) 23 Texas A&M 34

Tulane at Ole Miss

Can the Lane Kiffin-less Ole Miss Rebels stay on their potential championship pace? Will the Rebels be able to use the departure as motivation or will it be too much to overcome? Can Tulane prove doubters wrong and that they belong in the college football playoff?

Tulane got swamped 45-10 in their matchup earlier in September, has enough changed since then? The Green Wave played multiple quarterbacks in the blowout and had just 10 completions between the two. Their run game is the key of course, but the ability to make plays in the pass game is their best chance of pulling off the upset.

In the first meeting, Kewan Lacy only had 68 yards, but two touchdowns. I’d expect that to be different. Trinidad Chambliss also has three consecutive 300-yard games. This game being in Oxford makes this game that much more emotional and important for the Rebels.

Tulane at Ole Miss (-17.5). The Pick: Ole Miss 38 Tulane 17

James Madison-Oregon

No disrespect to the Dukes, shoutout Virginia, but Oregon is a different monster. Their one loss this season came to the number one ranked Indiana Hoosiers. They were good enough to be a top 4 team with a bye, and respectfully, this could still be considered as such.

The Ducks skill players; Noah Whittington, Jordon Davison, Kenyon Sadiq, Malik Benson and Jeremiah McClellan will very likely prove to be too much for James Madison. Alonza Barnett III, 35 total touchdowns, and Wayne Knight will need the game of their lives to pull off this upset in Eugene.

James Madison at Oregon. The Pick: Oregon 45 James Madison 13
