Panthers Fan Fest Takeaways

The Carolina Panthers have returned to the bank for their yearly fan fest and are warmly welcomed.

How did we get here?

The Carolina Panthers have had a hectic year in 2023. They hired Frank Reich as their new head coach and put together an impressive coaching staff, including Duce Staley, Ejiro Evero, Thomas Brown, Josh Mccown, Jim Caldwell, and others. The team is hoping that their collective experience will help them bring out the best in the Panthers. After a lackluster 7-9 season in 2022, fans were eager for change. The Panthers made waves in the NFL by trading for the number one overall pick and selecting Bryce Young as their quarterback of the future while adding some key free agents. The Panthers have had a great start to training camp in Spartanburg, SC and now they are looking forward to returning home to give fans a preview of what is to come this season. As I attended their practice, I wanted to share my top observations about the Carolina Panthers.

Bryce Young is as real as it gets.

Bryce Young, the first pick in the 2023 draft, demonstrated his worth during his recent performance in front of his home crowd in Carolina. He was comfortable and efficient during the 7 on 7s, connecting with various receivers, and his connection with Chark showed great potential for the upcoming season.

The Panthers utilized different looks during the two-minute drill, with Laviska making some motions and TMJ stick routes being used. A perfect back shoulder throw to DJ Chark was executed flawlessly, and with Young leading the offense, they made a steady march down the field. Despite immense pressure leading to an interception by Grugier-Hill, Young still completed 11 of 16 passes.

Bryce’s leadership was evident, as he took the time to communicate with his offensive line and receiver core on the sidelines during breaks to ensure everyone was on the same page. He gave the fans a sense of reassurance that things will be fine in the near future. The crowd’s roaring ovation during his on-field interview confirmed that this kid is the real deal.

RBs showing great strides

Although much attention is given to QB play and impressive catches, the RBs made a strong showing at this year’s annual fan fest, determined to prove their worth. Miles Sanders, the new acquisition from Philadelphia, displayed explosive energy and aims to continue his impressive performance from last season. Chubba Hubbard, a returning player who made a significant improvement in the latter half of the previous season, showcased exceptional physicality and vision, attacking gaps and achieving impressive runs at tonight’s fan fest. Spencer Brown is another name that is frequently mentioned during camp, as he makes a compelling case to make the 53-man roster, demonstrating impressive speed and agility and achieving several outstanding runs. The RB room appears to be in excellent shape, and the Panthers have many talented options in their backfield.

Fan Appreciation

Sitting and watching the stadium fill up with fans was an amazing experience. A total of 39,522 tickets were sold, creating a buzz that hasn’t been felt at Bank of America Stadium in a while. Reich praised the crowd during his press conference, and it was clear that the players were thrilled to perform in front of a full house.

Quick Notes

TMJ performed exceptionally well by making some tough catches, showing great aggression in getting past the line of scrimmage, and overall demonstrating significant progress towards a successful year.

Brian Burns is showcasing strong leadership skills during this camp, demonstrating that he fully supports the process and progress needed for the team’s success.

Andy Dalton’s impressive downfield passes showcased his talent and experience, while his leadership had a noticeable impact.
