The highly anticipated professional wrestling event, Wrestlemania, has finally arrived! Fans are in for an exciting experience as they witness several unforgettable matches and appearances. These include the six-pack ladder match, Rhea “Mami” Ripley defending her women’s world championship, Gunther possibly continuing his legendary run against fan favorite Sami Zayn, and Jade Cargill making her Wrestlemania debut. Additionally, older wrestling fans will see Rey Mysterio in action against his son Dominik Mysterio in tag team action. The Rock returns to Wrestlemania for the main event to protect the bloodline. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see how their favorite storylines will conclude, and perhaps some new ones will even start, but first, let’s predict which way I see things playing out on Night 1.
Becky Lynch vs Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship
Rhea Ripley has been reigning as the Women’s Champion for 369 days. She has been exceptional in her performance, captivating the world with her incredible run. However, no one matched her skill level during her tenure as Champion. Becky Lynch, a former Champion and one of the biggest names in women’s wrestling, is set to challenge her for the title. While I see “The Man” pushing Ripley to her limits, I believe “Mami” will ultimately retain her title. At only 27 years old, Ripley is just getting started as a champion and the face of the women’s division.
Winner: Rhea Ripley
Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee vs. Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio
This is a story that should have been given more time to develop. The addition of Dragon Lee might need to be clarified for some viewers, but it’s always amazing to see Rey Mysterio wrestling. He’s one of my childhood legends and a legend to many people worldwide. However, not everyone feels the same about Rey, particularly Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio. They’ve joined forces to try and humiliate their former mentor. I’m leaning towards Escobar and Dominik winning this match, mainly because Rey defeated little Mysterio at last year’s Wrestlemania. But a victory for Dom and Santos could elevate the heat these young heels have generated over the past year.
Winner: Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio
Six-pack tag team ladder match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship: Damian Priest and Finn Bálor vs. R-Truth and The Miz vs. Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano vs. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods vs. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller vs. Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate
A ladder match is always a crowd-pleaser at any WWE live event. This match has an added twist – both WWE Tag Team Championships are on the line, and the match will only end once both titles have been taken down. Many talented tag teams are participating in this match, but none more deserving than R-Truth and The Miz. These two have been hardworking workhorses in the company, and it would be a fitting reward to give them a Wrestlemania moment by winning the Raw Tag Team Titles. Conversely, I predict Austin Theory and Grayson Waller will win the Smackdown Tag Team Titles. These two young stars are in the making and finally getting the chance to take their antics to the next level.
Winner: R-Truth and The Miz (Raw), Austin Theory and Grayson Waller (Smackdown)
Bianca Belair, Naomi and Jade Cargill vs. Damage CTRL
I’m gonna keep this short and simple… This should be a squash match with Jade Cargill standing tall and showcasing her amazing strength and power she should be showcased as a world beater it would greatly benefit her in the long run
Winner: Bianca Belair, Naomi and Jade Cargill
Gunther vs. Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship
Gunther has held the Intercontinental Championship title for an impressive 665 days. Every time he wrestles, he performs outstandingly by dominating his opponents or delivering a five-star match. Despite Sami’s strong spirit and support from the crowd, it just doesn’t feel like his moment to take the title from Gunther. I anticipate that Gunther, the Ring General, will retain the title and continue with his legendary run.
Winner: Gunther
Jey Uso vs. Jimmy Uso
I’m excited to see the Brother vs. Brother match at Wrestlemania, which is only the third time it has occurred. I never thought I’d see this match, but I’m thrilled it’s finally here. Since Jey has left the bloodline, Jimmy Uso has had a mean streak and a chip on his shoulder. He antagonizes anyone who even looks at him wrong and has made it his mission to make his brother Jey Uso’s life hell. Jey Uso has been thriving since leaving the bloodline and has even earned the nickname “Main Event.” The WWE has done an excellent job of establishing Jey Uso as a singles competitor, and he should take home this victory to further push him into stardom.
Winner:Jey Uso
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes and Seth “Freakin” Rollins
This is, in my opinion, the most compelling story WWE has ever told. There are so many layers to it, and the addition of the Rock, the most electrifying man in sports entertainment and arguably the greatest star wrestling has ever seen, just amplifies it even more.
As for the match between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes tomorrow, this tag team match sets the stipulation for their Main Event of Night 2 for the World Heavyweight Championship will be determined. Cody aims to finish his story, but if Bloodline wins this match, it could make the story much more challenging to finish, as the main event will be Bloodline rules.
However, if the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes and Seth Freakin Rollins can overcome the obstacle and secure a victory, then the Bloodline will be banned from ringside. I believe the Bloodline will win here, making the final boss, The Rock, and Tribal Chief Roman Reigns look like a force to be reckoned with. This will result in Night 2 being Bloodline rules, stacking the deck against Cody Rhodes, and forcing his back against the wall.
And, as a gambling man, I will take the Rock for the most astonishing Wrestlemania entrance of the night.
Winner: The Bloodline The Rock and Roman Reigns
