#1 Seed Boston Celtics vs. #6 Seed Indiana Pacers
Bryce’s Outlook and Prediction
Season Series: Boston 3-2 (One of the losses was in the In-Season Tournament at Indiana)
The Eastern Conference Finals are set. The Boston Celtics will be up against the Indiana Pacers to get a step closer to bringing home the Larry O’Brien trophy. The Pacers are coming off a tough seven-game series with the New York Knicks. Led by Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam, this team has taken care of business against some of the better teams out east. But they face their biggest challenge yet in the Boston Celtics who have been in the conference finals four of the last five seasons.
This Celtics team has been one of the more complete teams we’ve seen in some time. As the best team in the league this season, the Celtics have become the team to beat. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have led the charge but their supporting cast has been the key to their success. Players like Jrue Holiday and Derrick White have been difference makers for Boston, showing up big throughout these playoffs.
The Celtics’ defense is up there as one of the league’s best and you know what they say, defense wins championships. For the Pacers, they will need to have big performances from their role players. TJ McConnell, Aaron Nesmith, and Andrew Nembhard provided valuable production in the past two rounds. They will have to maintain the level of play they’re playing if they want a shot at beating the Celtics. Myles Turner is going to have to perform well too.
However, I feel this will be the series that the Jays will dominate and make the most of this moment. The duo has been close to winning it all year after year and it’s time for them to finally get it done. It’s time for them to finally tap into that potential that has been building for so long. From the looks of it, it seems like they understand that and will take care of business.
X Factors: Celtics – Derrick White Pacers – Aaron Nesmith & TJ McConnell
